Terms of use
These terms apply when you use Daychek on any device or on the web. By creating an account or continuing as a guest, you agree to them.
Who provides Daychek
Daychek is provided by [CONTROLLER NAME / ADDRESS]. Contact: support@daychek.com.
Your account
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account) or on the deletion page.
Your content
What you put into Daychek stays yours. You allow us to store, sync and show it back to you, and to the people you share a list with, only so that Daychek works. How we handle it is in the privacy policy.
Fair use
- Don't use Daychek to break the law or to store or share content that isn't yours to share.
- Don't try to reach other people's data, overload the service or get around its limits.
- If you share a list or a share link, you decide who sees it. Revoke links you no longer want in use.
Premium
- Premium and Family are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play in the mobile apps, and through LemonSqueezy on the web and desktop. Their terms apply to the payment, renewal, free trials and refunds.
- Family gives Premium to the person who buys it (the owner) and up to 3 people they invite, 4 people in all. The owner can add up to 2 extra seats, one more person each. Only the owner pays, for the plan and for any extra seats; members never pay. Members have Premium only while the owner's Family is active; when it ends, members go back to the free plan and nothing is deleted. An extra seat counts only while the owner's Family is active. The owner can remove members and members can leave at any time.
- The owner can cancel the family plan in the app (Family → Cancel family plan). The family ends at once, everyone goes back to their own plan and keeps their own data, and the app then opens the subscription settings of the store where Family was bought (the App Store, Google Play, or LemonSqueezy on the web) so the owner can stop billing there. Cancelling the family plan in the app doesn't cancel the subscription in the store by itself. When Family was given rather than bought, for example as a prize or a referral reward, there is nothing to stop in a store.
- Families that already had more people when these limits started keep them. The limit applies only when someone new joins.
- You can join a different family once every 12 months; rejoining the same family is always possible. An owner can remove at most 2 members in any 12 months; members who leave on their own don't count. When we know both countries (from the shops each person linked on the map), the owner and a new member must be in the same country.
- A family is set up only in the app, with the owner's invites. Family Sharing in the App Store and family sharing in Google Play are not used for these subscriptions.
- We may review a family that looks unusual, for example members who share nothing or have no shop in common. Nothing happens automatically: the service owner checks it by hand, and may contact the owner or act under these terms.
- A free trial is only offered where the store shows it. If you don't cancel before it ends, the subscription starts and the store charges you.
- Cancel a subscription where you bought it. Deleting your Daychek account does not cancel it.
- On the free plan some features have limits; the app shows them where they apply.
Health features
Mood and cycle tracking are a personal diary. Cycle estimates are simple averages of your own entries. They are not medical advice, not a diagnosis and not a method of contraception.
Community prices and data sources
Community prices are what other people reported, combined automatically. They can be wrong or out of date, so check the price in the shop. Don't report prices you didn't see. Reports that look made up count for little or nothing. If a price shown in the app is wrong, you can report it there (Report a wrong price). Only report a price as wrong when you saw a different price or product in the shop, never to harm a shop or another person. We may exclude an account that sends false reports from prizes and leaderboards.
Shop names and places, towns, bus stops and routes, fuel stations and the road data behind drive times: © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Product details: Open Food Facts contributors (ODbL). Bus times are not shown; for live times use Malta Public Transport's own app.
Your contributions. Prices, confirmations, wrong-price reports, product details and shop suggestions you share with the community are facts, not creative works. By sharing them you give Daychek a free, worldwide, non-exclusive and permanent permission to store, combine, check, correct and show them to other users as part of the community prices, also after you stop sharing or delete your account. When you delete your account, your contributions are anonymised: they are no longer linked to you. We never show who contributed. You confirm that what you share is your own observation (for example from a shelf or your own receipt) and not copied from a shop's website, leaflet or app.
Contributor rewards (Chek points)
- Taking part is free and no purchase is necessary. Every account that shares prices with the community takes part automatically; guest accounts can't. Points are the same on every plan.
- You take part in one country, your price country, which you choose in the app (Settings → Privacy). Prices, confirmations, wrong-price reports and shop suggestions can be sent only for shops in that country, and points, badges, leaderboards and prizes count only there: each country has its own leaderboards and prizes, among the accounts whose price country it is. You can view community prices in other countries but not contribute to them.
- You can change your price country once every 90 days. Points you earned stay in the country where you earned them. Family members use the family owner's price country.
- You earn Chek points for helping keep prices right: 1 for confirming a price, 3 for reporting a price, 5 for a price from a receipt, 10 extra for being the first to report a price change that someone else confirms within 14 days, and 5 for adding a product barcode or a shop that someone else then uses.
- Points only count once at least one other person backs your price. Confirming your own price, prices far from what others report, and reports nobody backs within 60 days earn nothing. At most 50 points count per day; the rest count on a later day.
- Contributors are ranked by the points counted in each calendar month and each calendar year, in Malta time. When two people have the same points, the one who reached that total first ranks higher.
- After each month, the 10 highest-ranked contributors get 1 month of Premium. After each year, the 10 highest-ranked contributors get 1 year of Premium. A winner who already has Premium or Family gets a single-use gift code for the same Premium instead, to give to someone else.
- A family counts as one household. Reports from several family members about the same product at the same shop on the same day count once, the extra weight a paid plan gives to reports applies to the family owner only, and a family member confirming another member's price earns no points and doesn't count as another person backing it.
- A family wins free Family for the whole family only when its members' combined points reach the points a single contributor needs to win in that period, times the number of accounts in the family. Otherwise each member is ranked on their own.
- Prizes are handed out automatically within a day after the month or year ends. Winners are told in the app (Profile → Chek points → My rewards) and by email when their account has one.
- Prizes have no cash value and no cash alternative, and can't be transferred or exchanged, except the gift codes, which are meant to be given away.
- We may exclude an account from prizes and leaderboards for abuse, such as made-up prices, confirming prices you didn't see or using several accounts.
- Leaderboards are optional and show only the nickname you choose, never your name or email. Prize winners who aren't on the leaderboard are listed as Anonymous contributor.
- Levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Legend) and badges are just for fun, except that Gold and Legend prices count a little more in the combined price.
The contest is organised by the provider named at the top of these terms.
Referral program
- Only accounts can take part; guest accounts can't. Taking part is free. You invite friends with your personal code or link.
- A friend can enter a code when they sign up or within 14 days after creating their account. The first code they use is the one that counts, and it can't be changed later.
- You can't refer yourself. A code doesn't count when it comes from the same account, from someone in the same family, from the same device or from the same payer.
- A friend who joins with a code gets their first month of Premium free. Each person gets this welcome month only once, and it never adds up with a second one.
- When a friend you invited becomes a paying Premium subscriber, you get 3 months of Premium. When they pay for Family, you get 6 months.
- If you pay for Family yourself, your reward is given as Family time of the same value: 3 months of Premium become 2 months of Family, and 6 months become 4.
- A reward is earned after the friend's first yearly payment plus 30 days without a refund or cancellation, or after 3 paid monthly payments. Free trials, free periods, promo codes and gifts never count as payments. If the payment is refunded or the subscription is cancelled before the reward is earned, there is no reward.
- How you get a reward depends on how you pay for Premium. On the App Store, the app applies a promotional offer to your subscription. On Google Play, your next billing date moves later. On the web, your subscription is paused or extended. On the free plan, you get Premium time. When none of these is possible, you get a single-use gift code instead.
- You can earn at most 12 months of Premium from referrals in any 365 days in a row. Months over this limit are not granted, and the app shows that the limit is reached.
- Referral rewards have no cash value and no cash alternative, and can't be transferred or exchanged.
- We may withhold or reverse rewards and exclude an account from the program for abuse, such as fake accounts, referring yourself or spam. Rewards that look unusual are checked by hand by the service owner before they are given.
- We may change or end the referral program. Rewards you have already earned are still given.
Availability
We work to keep Daychek running and back it up every night, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. You can export your data at any time (Settings → Privacy → Export my data).
Ending
You can stop using Daychek and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Liability
Daychek is provided as it is. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law. [LIABILITY WORDING AND GOVERNING LAW]
